Dear diary,
Today happened something what we expected and were afraid of happening. We had to surrender. Everybody in the city knew that, we were just waiting and praying that this moment woul be as painless as possible.
General Pemberton suggested to Grant of unconditional surrender, but Grant did not want to feed thousands of hungry South's soliders, but he offered them full amnesty and they could go back home knowing that South is going to lose. Surrender was verified by old oak tree that was given as a 'souvenier' to soliders. We saw our soliders marching back home carrying that oak tree and in that moment, message was cristall clear: We have lost...
